"Out of the mouths of children and babies Thou hast ordained praise...." (Psalm 8:2)

Dear Hurting Mommy....
Help For Mothers Who Did Not Choose Life

Dear hurting mommy,

I started "Love The Unborn Babies" with a heart of love for the unborn babies, but that love is also extended to the mommies. I know there are a lot of mommies out there in a very difficult position, and I want you to know that I feel for you. If you have made the wrong choice, and are living with the pain and regret of having had an abortion, I want you to know that I don't think that I am better than you. I could very easily be in your place.

I am 24 years old, and live at home with my father and mother and brothers and sisters. My parents have taught me to embrace pre-marital abstinence, and have protected me, and I have never found myself in a situation of having an unplanned pregnancy. My older brother has gotten married and has five children, and I am waiting for the time when I will marry and have children of my own. I have been very blessed and very protected, but that does not make me better than anyone else. I could just as easily have been thrown into situations that would place me where you and others like you are now or have been.....

If you are feeling hurt and guilt from having had an abortion, I want you to know that your Heavenly Father feels all your pain and wants to carry your burdens for you. His gentle words to you are:

"I have made and I will bear you, even I will carry and will deliver you." (Isaiah 46:4)

As I was seeking Him for what to tell you, He gave me these verses for you:

"The Almighty is near unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

"He shall wipe away all the tears from their eyes." (Revelation 7:17)

Your pain is the beginning of a healing process. It is because you are hurting that the Heavenly Father can draw you to Himself, wipe away your sin, forgive you, and give you peace. If you did not feel this pain and guilt, you could not be forgiven. Since you recognize your wrong, He is ready to heal you and to forgive you.

Hiding away your guilt and pain and trying to pretend nothing happened will not bring about healing. Listen to the Creator's promise for you:

"She who conceals her sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)

He has mercy for you. He has healing for you.

Here is a song you might want to view and listen to. Maybe I haven't made the same mistakes you have made, but I have made plenty of mistakes too. This song has really touched my heart, and I think it will touch yours too. As you watch these young girls sing, remember that you are the Heavenly Father's little girl, and that He knows your name and has a plan for you.

"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. And I will be found of you." (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

Even in your mistakes and your grief, there is a purpose for your life. We've all made mistakes that we wish afterwards we had never made. You can be a voice to help someone else not make the same mistake. Let your voice be heard.

Blessings to you.
